Michael Jackson Tribute Artist Mixes Up Strange Creations

2010.06.30

Making for quite the interestingly questionable depictions, US artist Dan Lacey has been busily creating a collection of nearly 70 Michael Jackson tribute paintings in the year since the singer’s death.

Among the works are controversy-instigating nudes, as well works showing the King of Pop being pulled up by a representation of Jesus and a young Michael hanging with Tupac Shakur.

Lacey, whose oil painting take several days to complete, hit headlines last year with his surreal painting of a nude President Obama riding a unicorn.

Of his creations, Dan has admitted: “The paintings are quite unusual.”

Chris Brown Creeps on Playmate

2010.06.30

Just 24 hours before his emotional Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards, Chris Brown was searching deep within himself … and the cleavage of Jenna Bentley.

At a Playboy Mansion party the previous night, Brown was apparently impressed with Bentley’s assets, and according to an eyewitness, couldn’t resist a squeeze.

The Kandyland party, which featured a special performance by Sean “Diddy” Combs in addition to naked babes, was held to raise money for the Karma Foundation.

Here’s Chris with a little kandy of his own …

Jackson Family Hawaiian Getaway

2010.06.28

With their father Michael Jackson having passed away one year ago, the King of Pop’s three children were treated to a fun-filled getaway to the islands of Hawaii.

With grandma Katherine Jackson acting as escort, Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12 and Blanket, 8, took to the Pacific Ocean locale for a splash in the water on Thursday (June 24) .

With the trip drawing to a close, the Jackson family is expected to be making their way to Gary, Indiana for a vigil in honor of Michael.

Of the one year anniversary of her son’s death, Katherine recently told The Sun, “A year has gone by but it is still just as emotional. It’s very hard sometimes. I am happy that people are celebrating the anniversary because I know the world is missing and remembering him. But every day is a struggle – I miss him immensely.”

So This Happened Last Night

2010.06.28

If I was in the audience at last night’s BET Awards, I would’ve ran to the box office manager and demanded a refund after watching Chris Brown’s emotions whoop him to the point where tears started falling out of his eyes during his Michael Jackson tribute. As Joe Jackson will tell you (while he holds a switch over your head), there’s no crying in moonwalking! But that’s exactly what Chris did while trying to sing “Man in the Mirror.”

Detective La Toya was probably sitting in her suite at the Best Western muttering to herself, “Unprofessional…unprofessional….” Seriously, you won’t ever find La Toya breaking down while crotch thrusting in a MJ tribute performance at the opening of a cheese festival in Germany somewhere. No, you won’t.

Some seem to think that Chris Brown’s publicity overlords installed sacks filled with fake tears under his eyes so that his weeping could make the public forget about he might be the second coming of Ike Turner. But it didn’t look fake to me. I also don’t think that his weepiness had anything to do with Michael Jackson. Maybe that was the moment he realized that he’s Chris Brown. That would make us all bawl.

But in more important news, who in the hell took a bite out of John Legend’s hairline last night? Was Chris Brown filled with that much emotion that he just had to chew on something and John Legend’s hairline happened to be in his way?

This is a mystery that only Detective La Toya can solve.

Remembering Michael Jackson: The King of Pop Through the 1980s

2010.06.25

Friday, June 25 marks the one-year anniversary of the shocking death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

With his hit songs “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “Thriller,” Michael Jackson became an international pop icon during the 1980s. The performer’s elaborate tours and wildly popular music videos made an undeniable impact on the world of music, fashion, dance and stage theatrics. Take a look at MJ in the ’80s, when the ultimate entertainer shifted away from the Jackson Five, stepped into the solo spotlight and took center stage as the indisputable King of Pop. ET celebrates Michael’s life through the 1980s in pictures.

Watch: Donny Osmond Remembers Michael Jackson

2010.06.25

On the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, Donny Osmond shares his memories of the late King of Pop, and he opens up about his sister Marie’s healing process following the loss of her son.

“My fondest memory with Michael, we were both 14 years old, and it was right after the first American Music Awards; we presented an award,” Donny tells ET. “And we thought, ‘We’re hungry!’ So we hopped in the back of my limo, drove to Jack-in-the-Box, and we were sticking our heads out the moon roof eating tacos and driving down Sunset Blvd. We were both laughing our heads off.”

“It’s still hard for me to imagine a year after his death that he’s still gone, that Michael isn’t with us,” Donny adds. “But his music lives on. Michael will always be with us.”

Open Post: Hosted By Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett

2010.06.25

It was just one year ago today when Michael Jackson slipped on his rhinestone glove for the last time and jumped on Farrah Fawcett piggyback-style to ride her golden feathery waves of glamour all the way to heaven (Theme song for that image: The Neverending Theme song).

Who could forget seeing Detective La Toya dramatically run out of the hospital, drop to her knees, raise her fists into the heavens and declare vengeance on the evil souls responsible for this. At the same time, Jaclyn Smith was across town doing the same thing over Farrah Fawcett’s passing. Okay, I was stoned like a Canadian this time last year, so maybe I remember it differently, but let’s just go with it anyways.

And why isn’t today an INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAY?! Ask your HR department about that.

MJ fans and impersonators have already started honoring him by showing up to his burial site all week as seen below. Sadly, I couldn’t find any pictures of Farrah fans huddled around highlighting caps outside of beauty supply stores, so maybe we should get on that.
